Magnus Hober’s dream of creating an exclusive and personal clinic where patients are able to meet their surgeon and clinic staff and a calm and relaxed environment led to him founding the Improva Plastic Surgery clinic. They aim to offer sufficient time for consultations while not letting the clinic become too large. Obviously it is vital having cosmetic plastic surgery expertise at the highest international level.The initial medical consultation with the surgeon is vital since the patient wants to perform a medical procedure which hopefully improves their quality of life. As plastic surgeons we have an important task in trying to understand and evaluate whether patient wishes are realistic and how we are actually able to solve these problems. We also have a moral obligation to refuse procedures where patient expectations are not realistic or when the mental health of the patient dictates this. The initial consultation is therefore of major importance and sufficient time must be permitted in order to avoid unnecessary mistakes and misunderstandings.
